Day 01: Hanoi (Friday Arrivals) Arrive in Hanoi’s Noi Bai airport and transfer to your hotel. Day is left at leisure and dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi (Meals: Dinner)

Day 02: Hanoi – Lao Cai

After breakfast we go on a full day tour for Haoi starting with the Ho Chi Minh Complex, and the mausoleum Ho Chi Minh, founder of Vietnam, the Presidential Palace and we also visit Ho Chi Minh’s house. We continue our tour to visit the One Pillar Pagoda, dating back to the foundation of Hanoi a thousand years ago. Our journey takes us to the beautiful Temple of Literature, also known as Vietnam’s first university. After lunch our tour continues with a pleasant stroll in the tranquil surroundings of Hoan Kiem lake and the bustling old quarter of Hanoi. Hanoi’s Water Puppet Theatre cannot be left out of our tour and we will enjoy an entertaining performance before we transfer to the railway station to catch our train for Lao Cai. Day 03: Lao Cai – Sapa

On arrival in Lao Cai, we visit the colorful Sunday market at Bac Ha. This market attracts a wide variety of ethnic minority groups including the H’mong, Dao, Phu La, La Chi and Tay people. These ethic groups still retain their ancient cultural traditions and traditional outfits, and the experience of this colorful congregation is unique. After the market, we go on to Chay River and join a short cruise on the river (weather permitting). In the late afternoon, we make our way to Sapa. Overnight in Sapa (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 04: Sapa

Towering 1500m high, Sapa was once a hill resort of French administrators, and we get to meet and mingle with these extraordinary ethnic minority people, and go on a soft trek to Cat Cat village (3km approx.) to visit H’Mong minority people who first lived in Vietnam in the 17th & 18th century. The views of Sapa and the surrounding area from the heights of Ham Rong mountain are simply spectacular. Our walks today will take approximately 5 hours. Overnight in Sapa (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 05: Sapa – Hanoi

We set off after breakfast to visit Lao Chai and Ta Van villages home of the H’mong and Dzay people. Our walk in the villages will take about 3 hours. We return to Lao Cai train station for the return overnight train to Hanoi. Overnight on board train (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 06: Hanoi – Halong Bay

We arrive in Hanoi early in the morning and get a unique glimpse of everyday life here as the locals do their morning exercises and Tai Chi. We also get some time to see flower market before we head off for Halong bay to embark on our junk and cruise around Halong Bay, via Dinh Huong, Ga Choi, Dog, Sail islands, we visit Sung Sot cave and enjoy a swim at Titov beach. Overnight on board (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch / Dinner)

Day 07: Halong Bay – Hanoi

Our tour continues with an early morning cruise to Man’s Head, Tortoise islands and Luon Cave (in small bamboo boat). We disembark and meet our transfer back to Hanoi. The rest of the day is left free. Overnight in Hanoi (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 08: Hanoi – Hue There is some free time this morning before we transfer to Noi Bai airport for our flight to Hue, Vietnam’s last feudal capital. This small and quiet city is widely known for its magnificent architecture, pagodas and royal tombs laid in many small villages and the surrounding hills. The afternoon is spent touring the city its huge citadel to include the Imperial City and the Purple Forbidden City. This Royal Residence was destroyed during the 1968 Tet Offensive and it is fascinating to walk among the ruins, testaments of the Vietnam’s history. Overnight in Hue (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 09: Hue – Hoian

Today we spend a full day exploring Hue starting with a dragon boat cruise upstream on the Perfume River. We get a glance of the scenic countryside and we also visit the beautiful pagoda of Thien Mu and Emperor Minh Mang’s mausoleum. The next stop is a visit to the intricate royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc and the famous Tu Hieu pagoda. We leave Hue and drive south to Hoian, a World Heritage city, where indigenous and foreign influences have contributed to its unique cultural richness. We can catch some panoramic views of Lang co Beach as we cross over the winding Hai Van pass. We also stop en route to visit the Cham Museum in Danang City, China Beach and the Marble Mountain, whose peaks are said to represent the five elements of the universe. Overnight in Hoian (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 10: Hoian

There’s plenty to discover today in this delightful city with a fascinating architecture, a rich combination of Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese influences. Strolling the town, past many low tiled houses scattered along the winding streets we visit the vibrant market, the famous Japanese Covered Bridge, Pottery Museum, 200 years old Tan Ky House and Chua Ong Pagoda. Overnight in Hoian (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 11: Hoian – Nha Trang

After an early breakfast we transfer to Danang airport for a short flight to Nha Trang, the a very popular honeymoon destination. Nha Trang’s great climate and sunny skies, turquoise waters white sandy beaches make Nha Trang an ideal place for a romantic escape. The day is at leisure to explore this romantic paradise. Overnight in Nha Trang (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 12: Nha Trang

Our adventure takes us on a boat trip around the little islands scattered along the coast and we drop in at a local fishing village to experience first-hand the daily routine of local life. Time for snorkeling to admire the fabulous corals at Mun Island and there is plently of time to enjoy a swim in the crystal turquoise waters or laze around on the beach. We also feast on a seafood lunch before we return to return to town to visit the Long Son Pagoda and the imposing Ponagar Cham Towers, which overlook the lively fishing port. Overnight in Nha Trang (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 13: Nha Trang – Ho Chi Minh

We have some free time this morning before our transfer to the airport for our flight to Ho Chi Minh and the rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 14: Ho Chi Minh

We begin our exploring of Ho Chi Mihn city after breakfast, with the Reunification Palace, former residence of the Southern Vietnam President until 1975. Close by are some outstanding French colonial buildings such as the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Saigon Post Office and we also visit the Jade Emperor Pagoda, one of the best examples of Taoist temples in Vietnam. After lunch we drive to Cu Chi Tunnels, an astonishing underground network (approx. 200km) built by Vietnamese fighters during the long struggle for independence. The tunnels contained hospitals, accommodation as well as schools, and were used as a military base for the Viet Cong during the American war. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 15: Ho Chi Minh – Can Tho

Today we set off after breakfast for the Mekong Delta to visit Cai Be for a boat trip to experience the daily routines and activities of the locals living along the banks of the river. We some time to visit some local “industries” including rice paper making and bansai nurseries before we continue to Ving Long and then to Can Tho, the largest town in the Mekong delta. Overnight in Can Tho(Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 16: Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh 

Our last day of touring takes us to an early morning journey to Cai Rang market, where hundreds of local boats drift on the Mekong River trading their agricultural products. We return to the hotel for breakfast and we are then on our way to Ho Chi Minh. Rest of day is free for some last minute shopping. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 17: Ho Chi Minh  – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to airport for onward journey.
